Job Summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Certified Nurse Assistant for their Med Surg Unit at Ft. Thomas Hospital. The position is part-time, working 24 hours per week, from 7P-7A.

Job Description

• Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of an RN or LPN.
• Affords assistance with activities of daily living, personal care, comfort, and maintains a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients.
• Assists with positioning patients, lifting and turning, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting with bowel and bladder functions, and ambulating patients.
• Prepares and assists patients with meals, feeds patients, removes dietary trays, and records accurate intake and output.
• Demonstrates ability to follow directions, both oral and written, and works cooperatively with other staff members.
• Acquires knowledge of and develops skills in basic patient care procedures and charting care provided.
• Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory requirements and attends and seeks out education programs as assigned.
• Maintains certification through completion of mandatory in-service days.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Certified in the state where work is being performed as Certified Nurse Assistant.
• Completion of applicable state courses.
• Successful completion of Certified Nurse Assistant exam required for certification.
• Not listed on the applicable State Abuse Registry.
• Must have CPR for the professional rescuer.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of applicable state courses.
• Credentials/Licenses: Certified in the state where work is being performed as Certified Nurse Assistant.
• Specialized Knowledge: Demonstrates basic mathematical skills.
