Schedule
- Monday - Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm
- Weekend work when needed
Responsibilities
- Personal care including: baths—bed, tub, shower; back rubs; oral hygiene; changing bed linen
- Assisting the patient with dressing and undressing
- Assisting with grooming—care of hair, including shampoo, shaving, the ordinary care of nails and skin care
- Assisting the patient with toileting activities
- Assisting in feeding the patient, if necessary
- Assists the patient in moving from bed to chair, to wheelchair and in walking
- Reports changes in the patient's needs and condition to the supervising nurse
- Performs range of motion and other simple procedures as an extension of therapy services as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills/competency)
- Records patient care activities daily
- Participates in case conferences
- Prioritizes work/care tasks to ensure all duties and patient visits are completed when assigned
- Adheres to the Organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct
- Attends minimum of twelve (12) hours of in-service annually
- Participates in meetings as requested by the Clinical Director/Supervisor
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Note: CNA's are never allowed to administer medications
Requirements
- Successful completion of an approved training program in home health services to become a personal care aide, or candidate is licensed to practice as a Certified Nurse Aide
- Ideal candidate will also have direct HOSPICE experience as a CNA
- Has empathy for the needs of the ill, frail and impaired
- Is able to communicate information concerning a patient's condition clearly
- Displays initiative to work with minimal direct supervision
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
- Must have reliable transportation and a smartphone
- Caregiving: 2 years (Required)
- EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
- CNA (Required)
- Hospice CNA experience preferred
Pay
Starting at $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
