Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)

Schedule

Full-time day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

About the role

We are seeking a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to join our team for our long-term care neighborhood. Perform selected resident care tasks under the direction of the Head Nurse or Charge Nurse (LPN/RN) to assist medical and nursing personnel in examination, treatment, and care. Provide privacy and assistance in maintaining residents’ dignity.

Responsibilities

• Take and record resident vital signs; promptly report abnormal conditions to the head/charge nurse.
• Proactively monitor resident physical and behavioral needs/concerns; report changes or occurrences in a timely manner.
• Prepare residents, equipment, and supplies for procedures; provide required assistance.
• Administer routine treatments and provide additional care to meet residents’ personal needs and comfort.
• Collect resident specimens.
• Clean resident rooms, change beds, maintain linens, bathe, feed, provide oral care, active and passive range of motion, and exercise residents.
• Escort or transport residents to various facility locations.
• Pick up and deliver supplies as required.
• Check and record residents’ intake and output; empty residents’ utensils.
• Provide refreshments, turn residents, engage in conversation, and serve as an intermediary with nursing staff.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) and perform restorative care to maintain residents’ highest functioning level.

Requirements

• Valid, unencumbered Virginia CNA license.
• Two to three years of experience in skilled or long-term care facility preferred but not required.
