About the role
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Patient Care Technician (PCT) works under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The CNA/PCT performs multi-skilled duties within the limits of training and certification in caring for the patient. Assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients.
Responsibilities
- Assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients.
- Affords assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, walking.
- Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures.
- Serves and collects food trays and provides patients with between-meal nourishment.
- Records temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a CNA program within 6 months is preferred if not already certified.
- Preferred to be currently registered as a Certified Nurse Assistant in South Carolina; must be current on the Nurse Aide Registry if certified.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
