Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

Responsibilities

• Assists PACU (or OR) nurses as needed.
• Cleaning stretchers/chairs and rooms in 23-hour area in between patients according to facility specifications.
• Distributes linen throughout the facility, removes soiled linen to the soiled linen room. May be required to fold linen.
• Distributes scrub attire clothing to staff locker rooms.
• Maintains stock level of blankets in warmers.
• Obtains and accurately documents patient vital signs and pain level.
• Absorbs and maintains stock levels of supplies in the nursing areas.
• Assists in unloading of stock and delivery of stock throughout the building.
• Changing depleted oxygen tanks in a safe manner.
• Assists with patient flow, transfers and toileting needs.
• Assisting in prepping/clipping patients.
• Transports patients safely using appropriate means.
• Provides a friendly, safe, timely, quality-driven environment responsive to the needs of the customers.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program
• Must be 18 years or older
• CPR/BLS preferred or willingness to obtain certification
• Prior Ambulatory Surgery Center experience preferred but not required
• Extensive orientation offered
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong data entry skills
