About the role
Canyon Vista Medical Center is a 106-bed acute care hospital in Sierra Vista, Arizona, part of Lifepoint Health. The Acute Care Unit features private rooms with telemetry monitoring and advanced healthcare technology.
Responsibilities
- Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN or LPN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
- Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Aids in keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly.
- Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Provides quality patient care; works flexible shifts or units as needed.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Arizona required.
- BLS certification required.
- Handle with Care certification preferred.
Qualifications
- Comfortable with frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hard/arm movements.
- Comfortable with regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.
Skills
- Basic patient care skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
