Certified Medication Technician (Med Tech)

Responsibilities

• Administer the correct oral and external medications to residents daily.
• Monitor the therapeutic effects of medications.
• Report observed changes in behavior and clinical status to nurse.
• Bathe and assist residents with their ADLs.
• Monitor stock levels of equipment to verify they are maintained on premises to meet residents’ needs.
• Recommend changes in techniques and/or procedures for cost-effective and efficient operation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or administration.
• Be a team player; function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
• Possess and display a genuine caring for, and interest in, maintaining and enhancing a positive physical, emotional, and psychosocial environment for residents, visitors, and personnel.
• Relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally unstable and/or volatile residents of the facility.

Requirements

• Current and active Medication Administration Training Certification in the state of Pennsylvania.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Must genuinely care about others.
