About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Certified Medication Technician to join our team on the Second Shift. In this role, you will be responsible for safely administering medications, supervising resident self-administration, and working closely with our nursing staff to maintain the highest standard of care for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and routine treatments to residents accurately and strictly according to physician orders and care plans.
- Supervise residents who self-administer medications, ensuring safety and compliance.
- Observe, document, and promptly report any changes in a resident's physical condition, cognitive status, or medication side effects to the Nursing Supervisor or Director of Nursing.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant administration records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Perform all medication administration duties in strict adherence to facility policies, state licensure regulations, and federal guidelines.
- Assist with medication cart organization, inventory control, and reordering supplies as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Unit Manager, Director of Nursing, or Facility Administrator.
Requirements
- Must hold a current, active, and unencumbered Wisconsin Certified Medication Aide (CMA / Med Tech) Certification.
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Wisconsin as required by state regulatory guidelines.
- Previous experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or assisted living facility is preferred, but newly certified Med Techs are encouraged to apply.
Skills
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with residents, family members, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative nursing team.
