About the role

The Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of residents. This dual-certified position involves assisting with medication administration and providing hands-on care to promote dignity and independence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with medication administration and provide treatments under the supervision of a nurse.
  • Maintain resident rooms in a clean and orderly manner through light housekeeping and other tasks.
  • Provide direct care and support for activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, mobility, and feeding.
  • Collaborate with nursing and caregiving teams to support a person-centered care environment.
  • Prepare residents for meals and assist with serving meals.
  • Monitor residents' conditions, behaviors, and functional status and report any changes promptly.
  • Ensure residents' privacy and property are safeguarded.
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with staff and residents.
  • Participate in facility meetings and in-service training programs.
  • Practice good infection control techniques.
  • Operate various equipment safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medication Aide (CMA)
  • CPR Certification
  • Experience: 0-1 Years
  • Physical Requirements: Standing, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 100 lbs, operating various equipment, hearing, vision, and manual dexterity.

Qualifications

  • Effective communication skills with residents and healthcare professionals.
  • Knowledge of various medications, their purposes, dosages, routes of administration, and potential side effects.
  • Understanding of privacy regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to document medication administration and patient responses accurately.
  • Ability to educate patients about their medications.

Skills

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.13 - $25.43 per hour. The actual offered rate of pay may vary based on job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.
