About the role
The Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of residents. This dual-certified position involves assisting with medication administration and providing hands-on care to promote dignity and independence.
Responsibilities
- Assist with medication administration and provide treatments under the supervision of a nurse.
- Maintain resident rooms in a clean and orderly manner through light housekeeping and other tasks.
- Provide direct care and support for activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, mobility, and feeding.
- Collaborate with nursing and caregiving teams to support a person-centered care environment.
- Prepare residents for meals and assist with serving meals.
- Monitor residents' conditions, behaviors, and functional status and report any changes promptly.
- Ensure residents' privacy and property are safeguarded.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with staff and residents.
- Participate in facility meetings and in-service training programs.
- Practice good infection control techniques.
- Operate various equipment safely and efficiently.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medication Aide (CMA)
- CPR Certification
- Experience: 0-1 Years
- Physical Requirements: Standing, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 100 lbs, operating various equipment, hearing, vision, and manual dexterity.
Qualifications
- Effective communication skills with residents and healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of various medications, their purposes, dosages, routes of administration, and potential side effects.
- Understanding of privacy regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Ability to document medication administration and patient responses accurately.
- Ability to educate patients about their medications.

- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $19.13 - $25.43 per hour. The actual offered rate of pay may vary based on job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.
