Essential Duties And Job Responsibilities

  • Administer oral and topical medications as prescribed by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Ensure the correct medication, dosage, and time are administered.
  • Document medication administration accurately, including dosage, time, and resident response.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication administration.
  • Report any adverse reactions or side effects to the supervising nurse.
  • Auxiliary nursing care: Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
  • Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the supervising nurse.
  • Provide personal care, including bathing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of residents. Answer residents' call lights and respond to their needs promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Follow established healthcare standards and practices.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and staff. Document resident care and medication administration accurately and thoroughly.
  • Report any changes in resident condition or concerns to the supervising nurse.

Requirements

  • Licensed Certified Medication Aide in the State this position is held in
  • Maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment
  • Prioritize experience in long term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and or critical care clinical setting
  • Experience in electronic medical records documentation
