About the role
As a Certified Medication Aide (CMA), you will be responsible for administering prescribed medications to residents and maintaining related medical records under the supervision of the Director of Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications to residents
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Work closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure compliance with medication administration protocols
- Ensure all medications are stored and handled according to safety guidelines
- Communicate effectively with residents and their families regarding medication administration
- Follow all policies and procedures set forth by the facility
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One (1) year of previous health care experience
- Valid certification as a CMA in the state of employment
- Valid certification as a CNA in the state of employment
- One year of nursing assistant experience, including administering medications in a long-term care environment preferred
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and policies
- Basic computer skills
