Responsibilities
- Administer medications to residents as prescribed by their physicians, maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with the healthcare team
- Conduct vital sign checks and monitor resident condition to ensure prompt identification of any changes or concerns
- Provide direct support with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, under the supervision of licensed nurses
- Assist with wheelchair transfers, ambulation, and other mobility needs
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to infection control practices and reporting any hazards or incidents to the supervisor
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, promoting holistic resident care and satisfaction
Requirements
- Current certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) in the State of Texas
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completed training program in medication administration and medication aide certification preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and healthcare staff
- Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents, as needed; may require bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods
