Certified Medical Assistant (Urgent Care)
About the role
Doctors Urgent Care Group—featured in Inc. 5000 as one of the nation’s fastest‑growing urgent care providers—is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Medical Assistant (MA). This is a fast‑paced, direct clinical role. Candidates must be confident in independent clinical procedures, including phlebotomy, injections, and 12‑lead EKG setup from day one.
Requirements
- Minimum 1+ years of active, paid experience as a hands‑on Medical Assistant in urgent care, emergency, or high‑volume outpatient settings (externship hours alone do not qualify).
- Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture/phlebotomy, administering intramuscular injections, and running 12‑lead EKGs.
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NCMA) or graduate of an accredited MA program.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Applicants who are CNA‑only or seeking front‑desk/receptionist roles will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipuncture/blood draws and run point‑of‑care lab tests (Rapid Flu, Strep, Pregnancy).
- Prepare urine and other specimens for external lab send‑outs.
- Conduct 12‑lead EKGs, administer vaccines and intramuscular medications, and prep sterile trays for suturing assistance.
- Manage patient intake in EMR systems, obtain accurate medical histories, and record vital signs efficiently.
- Assist physicians and Nurse Practitioners during clinical exams and maintain strict infection‑control protocols across exam rooms.
Pay
Competitive base rate of $18.00 – $21.00 per hour, plus up to $3,000 productivity bonus, summer & winter bonuses, anniversary bonus, on‑call shift bonuses, and a $1,000 sign‑on bonus.
