Schedule

Responsibilities

  • Mentors and trains new employees and those needing additional training.
  • Provides wellness coaching and education to reduce high-risk behaviors in individuals with health concerns.
  • Teaches and delivers education using the CREATION Life framework and Lifestyle Medicine principles.
  • Implements programs supporting mind, body, and spiritual health.
  • Participates in interviewing applicants and provides feedback to hiring managers.
  • Maintains education requirements and demonstrates competency through biannual clinical assessments.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and practice policies.
  • Facilitates efficient practice flow by preparing patients and equipment for treatment, documenting results, and administering prescribed medications.
  • Screens patients, documents information, and instructs patients in sample collection and tests.
  • Explains procedures and treatments to patients and ensures consents for treatment are executed.
  • Covers shifts in the event of sickness or vacation in various practices.
  • Performs practice safety reviews and submits required biannual documents to maintain status.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Technical/Vocational School graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program
  • 2+ years of medical assistant experience (Required)
  • 2+ years of physician practice experience (Preferred)
  • Experience with computers (Required)

Qualifications

  • EMR Superuser (Required)
  • Must be familiar with Quality metrics (Required)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology (Required)
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize internal and external resources (Required)
  • Expertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systems (Required)
  • Ability to function and assist others in stressful, fast-paced environments and effectively apply stress management techniques (Required)
  • Ability to resolve issues and work independently within the scope of their certification (Required)
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, diplomacy and a professional demeanor (Required)
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing and typing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively to carry out job requirements (Required)

  • American Association Medical Assistants (CMA) (Required)
  • Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) (Required)
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (Required)
  • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) (Required)
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) (Required)
  • Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) (Required)
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) (Preferred)

$17.11 - $27.38 per hour
