Essential Duties And Major Responsibilities
- Prepares patients for visits with providers by performing and recording vital signs (including: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, weight, and other procedures as needed)
- Affords assistance in preparing patients for routine diagnostic procedures (i.e. urine specimens) and performing selected POC screening tests
- Manages patient care as a team effort involving clinical and non-clinical staff interacting with patients
- Organizes and coordinates Suboxone and Vivitrol schedules, distributes patients across sites and provider time blocks
- Manages provider registry for patients receiving MAT
- Provides support during screening, intake, induction, stabilization and maintenance phases of patient treatment
- Tracks, follows up and reports diagnostic services, diagnostic test results, referrals for diagnostic tests, tracks results and closes the loop for all test results
- Communicates with providers, patients and the patient’s families when appropriate
- Affords assistance in maintaining the treatment database with health information for those patients enrolled in the program and pertinent to any associated grants
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required, Associate Degree in Medical Office Assistant or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience preferred
- Work experience similar to a medical office environment
- Computer skills for accurate data entry
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- AHA BLS Health Care Provider certification or equivalent
- Demonstrated interpersonal relationship skills
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced medical office environment
