Essential Duties And Major Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for visits with providers by performing and recording vital signs (including: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, weight, and other procedures as needed)
  • Affords assistance in preparing patients for routine diagnostic procedures (i.e. urine specimens) and performing selected POC screening tests
  • Manages patient care as a team effort involving clinical and non-clinical staff interacting with patients
  • Organizes and coordinates Suboxone and Vivitrol schedules, distributes patients across sites and provider time blocks
  • Manages provider registry for patients receiving MAT
  • Provides support during screening, intake, induction, stabilization and maintenance phases of patient treatment
  • Tracks, follows up and reports diagnostic services, diagnostic test results, referrals for diagnostic tests, tracks results and closes the loop for all test results
  • Communicates with providers, patients and the patient’s families when appropriate
  • Affords assistance in maintaining the treatment database with health information for those patients enrolled in the program and pertinent to any associated grants

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required, Associate Degree in Medical Office Assistant or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience preferred
  • Work experience similar to a medical office environment
  • Computer skills for accurate data entry
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • AHA BLS Health Care Provider certification or equivalent
  • Demonstrated interpersonal relationship skills
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced medical office environment
