Certified Medical Assistant Mac Float PRN
About the role
Medical Assistants are essential members of the clinic team. They contribute to the healthcare of patients by assisting with exams and procedures, organizing and managing patient flow, and taking on other responsibilities based on the needs of the department. Incumbents will rotate to different units within the Moffitt Ambulatory Center (MAC) in all assigned outpatient clinics or other designated patient care areas to ensure quality patient care and appropriate staffing needs are met.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient exams and procedures
- Organize and manage patient flow
- Rotate to different units within the MAC to meet staffing and patient care needs
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Certification or Registration from one of the following organizations:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA-Certified Medical Assistant)
- American Medical Technologist (RMA-Registered Medical Assistant)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA-Nationally Certified Medical Assistant)
- National Healthcareer Association (CCMA-Certified Clinical Medical Assistant)
- National Association for Health Professionals (NRCMA-Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant)
- Current Moffitt Medical Assistants must receive certification from one of the above organizations within one year of transfer from a grandfathered unit
Preferred: Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program, applicable military medical training, or active enrollment in a BSN program with completion of nursing fundamentals (proof of enrollment required at the beginning of every semester).
Pay
Salary range: $25.75 per hour. Ranges posted represent the expected base pay for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
