About the role

Medical Assistants are essential members of the clinic team. They contribute to the healthcare of patients by assisting with exams and procedures, organizing and managing patient flow, and taking on other responsibilities based on the needs of the department. Incumbents will be utilized in different units within the MAC (Moffitt Ambulatory Center) to ensure quality patient care and appropriate staffing needs are met. Will rotate to different units within the MAC (Moffitt Ambulatory Center) in all assigned outpatient clinics or other designated patient care areas.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Certification or Registration from one of the following organizations:
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA-Certified Medical Assistant)
  • American Medical Technologist (RMA-Registered Medical Assistant)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA-Nationally Certified Medical Assistant)
  • National Healthcareer Association (CCMA-Certified Clinical Medical Assistant)
  • National Association for Health Professionals (NRCMA-Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant)
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program; or
• Applicable Military Medical Training; or
• Students who are actively enrolled in a BSN program, have completed nursing fundamentals, and can provide proof of enrollment at the beginning of every semester
• If a current Moffitt Medical Assistant, must receive Certification from one of the above organizations within one year of date of transfer from grandfathered unit

Pay

Salary Range: $21.65 - $33.05. Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
