About the role
Assess patient needs through history, observation, and analysis of diagnostic data. Perform direct patient care, prepare patients for examinations, conduct specialized tests and procedures, administer medications, provide patient education, schedule appointments, and handle telephone consultations.
Responsibilities
- Avoids delays in patient care by ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Ensures clean and well-equipped examination rooms.
- Manages medical supplies.
- Contributes to departmental Quality Assurance projects.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent from an accredited school.
- At least one year experience in a physician’s office or other clinical setting.
- Registered or State Certified as a Medical Assistant with accrediting board.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
- Proficient in electronic health record systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Ability to perform basic laboratory procedures.
