About the role

Heritage Health is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Certified Medical Assistant to join our team in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Responsibilities

  • Absorbs supply needs and communicates them to the appropriate parties.
  • Manages MA box work to enhance productivity.
  • Timely rooms patients, performs vital signs, takes family and social histories, consolidates medications, completes PHQ’s, reviews history of present illness and review of systems.
  • Completes in-office standing orders including A1C’s, immunizations, retinal testing, DM foot exams, visual acuities, hearing tests, and drug screens.
  • Prepares exam rooms for procedures and reviews quality measures.
  • Cleans examination rooms after each visit and at the end of each day.
  • Restocks exam rooms weekly and as needed.
  • Contacts patients with lab and/or test results after provider review.
  • Documents critical lab values/test results when received via telephone.
  • Checks weekly for expiration dates on samples and logs completed tasks.
  • Completes documentation related to childhood vaccinations.
  • Supports other departments and Heritage Health locations as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or relevant work experience and certification as a Registered Medical Assistant.
  • Certification from a nationally recognized organization (AAMA, NHA, NCCT or AMT) or must obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Minimum of one year of prior outpatient medical assistant experience preferred.
  • BLS or ACLS certification or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a nationally accredited Certified Medical Assistant certification program or relevant work experience and national certification or registration as a Medical Assistant.
  • Must be able to perform basic math computations.
  • Must be proficient in computer use, including Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must commit to patient confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
