Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Required: Completed a Medical Assistant training program OR Medical Assistant Training Program equivalency
- Preferred: At least 6 months experience in Certified Medical Assistant role OR proof of completion of on-the-job training/education program for certified medical assisting in another healthcare organization
- Licensure/Certification: Current certification by ONE of the following approved certifying agencies: AAMA, AMT, AAH, NCCT, NHA, NAHP
- Experience: Previous experience as a medical office assistant or CNA or equivalent, previous experience with electronic health records or phlebotomy
- Licensure/Certification (for Rural Health Clinic): BLS through the American Heart Association
Pay
Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. The expected pay range for this position is $23.06-$27.13/hour.
Overview
The Certified Medical Assistant will perform delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience. They may work in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice, providing clerical support, assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities at the direction of the physician/provider. They must perform these duties in accordance with the specific needs of the practice.
