Responsibilities
- Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint; documents pain scores as appropriate.
- Reports condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient's condition to the clinician.
- Aids providers with exams and minor in-office procedures, including taking patients' blood pressure, documenting respiration and heart rate/pulse, taking temperature, ear irrigation, and performing EKG's.
- Acts as chaperon as needed.
- Uses universal blood and body fluid precautions at all times and personal protective equipment as needed.
- Responsible for prioritization of patient flow through clinical process.
- Collaborates with clinicians and nursing staff to implement and evaluate direct patient care.
- Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling of patients.
- Communicates test results to patient.
- Acts as a resource to clinician to provide optimal patient care.
- Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms, and storage areas.
- Orders supplies and stocks patient care areas.
- Maintains an up-to-date inventory including medication/injectables and immunizations (e.g. expired medications/equipment and recalls).
- Develops and maintains an effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers.
- Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- Knowledge as normally obtained through graduation from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program.
- Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
- Medical Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant Registration is required.
- Current BLS certification.
- Requires skills and abilities typically attained with 1 year of medical clerical experience, preferably in a hospital or physician office setting, or prior experience in customer service.
- Must possess excellent organizational skills as well as effective human relations and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy and keyboarding skills is required.
Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications: Recent healthcare experience preferred.
- Additional Related Education And/or Experience Preferred.

Pay
Compensation $21.07 to $30.34 hourly wage based on experience and education.
Schedule
Full-time, 36 hours perk week, 3x12 Hour day shifts, varied.
