Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) - Pediatrics

Qualifications

• Certifications: Must hold one of the following: CCMA, CMA, NCCT, RMA (ARMA, AAH, AMT), or NRCMA.
• Additional Requirements: BLS certification through AHA within 30 days of hire.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients, gather medical histories, and perform clinical procedures such as urine catheterizations, suturing, cast application, TB tests, and point-of-care testing.
• Perform administrative tasks including patient check-in/out, scheduling, authorizations, benefit verification, referrals, and testing coordination.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments to patients aged 0–21, and assist with in-office procedures like toenail removal and lesion excision.
• Obtain and document vital signs, assist with prescription refills, and provide patient education materials.
• Support providers during procedures, complete medical forms, and ensure accurate documentation in the EMR.
