About the role
The role of a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant involves providing routine administrative and patient care support within a medical practice.
Responsibilities
- Rooming patients by gathering medical history and medication details
- Managing telephone interactions with patients, families, and pharmacies
- Handling administrative tasks such as check-in/out, scheduling, referrals, and benefits verification
- Performing clinical procedures like urine catheterization, suturing, cast application, and point-of-care diagnostics
- Providing patient instructions and education on procedures and medications
- Supporting medication administration, prescription refills, and lab result communication
- Maintaining competency in clinical skills and managing supplies
- Performing ear lavage and other office procedures as directed
Requirements
- Hold relevant certifications such as NRCMA, CCMA, RMA, CMA, and BLS
- Possess a high school diploma or GED
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Skills
- Proficient in electronic health records systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
