About the role

TN Valley Primary Care, a division of Summit Medical Group, has an opening for an experienced Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) or LPN to join their office.

Schedule

This is a full time opportunity working Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examinations and procedures according to physician preferences
  • Record vital signs of patients, including pulse, blood pressure, height, and weight
  • Perform appropriate procedures such as phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, and holter monitors
  • Assist the physician(s) with procedures, administer medications, and conduct patient education
  • Handle phone nursing tasks including triaging, pre-certs, referrals, and calling in prescriptions
  • Perform clerical duties necessary for patient care, including contacting patients regarding test results
  • Pull and prepare patient records for physicians as needed
  • Schedule patient appointments with efficient use of clinical time slots
  • Maintain stocked, neat, and clean exam rooms and common work areas on a daily basis
  • Adhere to established company policies and procedures, corporate compliance program, and state and federal regulations such as OSHA and HIPAA guidelines
  • Adhere to site-specific protocols and expectations
  • Perform duties in a professional manner while exhibiting a courteous and cooperative manner to co-workers, management, and the public
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality both internally and externally
  • Actively participate in site-level Quality Improvement Activities and contribute to continual evaluation of site performance
  • Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor, Site Manager, physician, or Administrative staff

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • At least six months experience in a similar clinical setting preferred
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant certification or LPN Tennessee license required
