About the Role

The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting in the direct delivery of primary health care support and patient care management under the direction and supervision of the Physician. Duties include assisting the physician in the implementation of nursing care as directed, all aspects of the medical office, and may include responsibilities in both the front office and clinical areas. This role has full access to patient health information.

Location: Iredell Family Medicine, 544 Brawley School Road, Mooresville

Sign-on Bonus: Eligible for $1000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician in implementing nursing care as directed.
• Perform clinical duties, including examination, diagnostic, and treatment procedures.
• Operate and maintain medical equipment and instruments.
• Handle front office responsibilities, such as scheduling, payments, billing/coding, and medical records.
• Perform venipuncture accurately (preferred).
• Ensure safety precautions and hazard awareness in the medical environment.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain attention to detail.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must be a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
• Working knowledge of medical practice operations, including examination, diagnostic, and treatment procedures.
• Clerical experience, including scheduling, billing/coding, medical records, and medical office equipment.
• Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of business software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Current CPR certification or willingness to complete within 30 days of hire.

Physical Demands

• Possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for the position, including walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and sitting for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
