Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) - Family Medicine

About the role

A Certified Medical Assistant / Registered Medical Assistant provides routine administrative and patient care support in a medical practice to assist healthcare staff and ensure smooth office operations.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and collecting medical history
• Performing clinical procedures such as urine catheterizations, sutures, and point-of-care testing
• Administering medications
• Managing electronic medical records
• Scheduling appointments
• Verifying benefits and coordinating referrals and testing
• Communicating with patients, families, pharmacies, and other healthcare facilities
• Providing patient education
• Completing pre-visit tasks
• Assisting with prescription refills and medication management

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Relevant certification such as CMA, RMA, NRCMA, CCMA, or RMA from recognized organizations
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire

Skills

• Strong clinical and administrative skills
• Proficiency in EMR management
• Ability to perform clinical procedures accurately
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members
