Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or LPN - Summit Medical Group at Newport

About the role

Summit Medical Group at Newport is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or LPN to join their office on a full‑time basis, assisting physicians and mid‑level providers with clinical tasks and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares patients for examinations and procedures according to physician preferences.
• Records vital signs (pulse, blood pressure, height, weight, etc.).
• Performs clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, Holter monitors, etc.
• Assists physicians with procedures, administers medications, and conducts patient education.
• Handles phone nursing duties including triaging, pre‑certifications, referrals, and calling in prescriptions.
• Performs clerical duties to support patient flow; contacts patients regarding test results or other matters as directed.
• Pulls and prepares patient records for physician review as needed.
• Schedules patient appointments when needed, making efficient use of clinical time slots.
• Maintains stocked, neat, and clean exam rooms and common work areas daily.
• Adheres to company policies, corporate compliance program, and state/federal regulations (OSHA, HIPAA).
• Follows site‑specific protocols and expectations.
• Demonstrates professional, courteous, and cooperative behavior with coworkers, management, and the public.
• Maintains strict confidentiality internally and externally.
• Actively participates in site‑level Quality Improvement Activities, contributing to performance evaluation and implementation of improvement initiatives.
• Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor, Site Manager, physician, or administrative staff.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional vocational or college credits preferred.
• At least six months of experience in a similar clinical setting preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or a valid LPN license in Tennessee required.
