About the role
Be the heart of compassionate care as a Medical Assistant with us! In this vital role, you'll provide essential assistance and comfort to patients, ensuring they receive the best possible experience during their healthcare journey. You will assist the physician with daily operations, maintain efficient patient flow, and support patient care including exams, procedures, and education under physician supervision.
A $2500 sign-on bonus is available for new hires.
Responsibilities
- Assist physician with the daily operations of the physician’s office
- Maintain efficient patient flow and assist with patient care, including exams, procedures, and patient education under the direction and supervision of a physician
- Perform triage, monitor, and record vitals of all visiting patients
- Perform EKG and phlebotomy, as applicable
- Ensure accurate medical documentation of office visits
- Assist with office and scheduling coordination in their absence, if necessary
- Ensure all interactions with patients, the public, physicians, and other personnel are friendly, courteous, helpful, and considerate
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program OR three years of relevant work experience in lieu of completion of an accredited program
- Medical Assistant Certification required through one of the following: National Healthcare Association (NHA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologist (AMT), National Center for Competency Training (NCCT), the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), or Healthcare Professional Registry of the US (HPRUS) (certification may be obtained within 90 days of hire)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school OR three years of relevant work experience in a healthcare setting in lieu of diploma
- At least one year of relevant work experience (preferred)
