About the role

A Certified Medical Assistant who excels in this role:

  • Provides basic patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Maintains patient rooms and common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized care environment.
  • Supports nursing and physician staff with patient care activities and unit workflow.
  • Manages tech desk operations and assists with maintaining efficient department throughput.
  • Documents patient care and activities in accordance with hospital and unit standards.
  • Participates in required education, competency validation, and performance improvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Provides basic patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Maintains patient rooms and common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized care environment.

Serves as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers.

Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, and ambulation.

Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings.

Supports nursing and physician staff with patient care activities and unit workflow.

Manages tech desk operations and assists with maintaining efficient department throughput.

Documents patient care and activities in accordance with hospital and unit standards.

Participates in required education, competency validation, and performance improvement activities.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

National Certification of Medical Assistant (CMA) AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Handle with Care certification preferred.

Qualifications

Experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.

Skills

Basic computer skills.

Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.

Ability to perform CPR and handle emergency situations.

Pay

Commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Monday - Thursdays (8:00 AM-4:30 PM), No Weekends.
