Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with primary care physicians to deliver quality patient care
• Review and update patient health records, verify diagnostic tests and reports
• Measure vital signs including pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height
• Prepare treatment rooms for examinations
• Provide respectful customer service, greet patients and community
• Perform clerical duties such as checking inventory, tracking referrals, and answering phones
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly
• Perform other assigned duties

Qualifications & Skills

• High School Degree or GED
• Active Medical Assisting certification (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA, NRCMA, NCMA, NCCT); Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry acceptable in some cases
• BLS certification (preferred or required based on location)
• One year healthcare experience (preferred)
• Two years clerical experience (preferred)
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer skills
• Professional interaction with staff and patients
