Certified Medical Assistant - Cardiology Clinic

Responsibilities

  • Absorb patient history and review of systems.
  • Measure and document vital signs and screenings accurately.
  • Document all care in the EMR using standardized workflows.
  • Collect and prepare specimens for lab analysis as needed.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations within scope of licensure.
  • Schedule referrals and complete required forms, requisitions, and coding.
  • Provide patient and family education as directed by the provider.
  • Interpret lab and procedure results and take appropriate next steps.
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in team communications and meetings.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and strong customer service.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants (Certificate, diploma, or Associate’s Degree).
  • Experience: Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through one of the following required:
    • National Healthcareer Association
    • American Association of Medical Assistants
    • National Center for Competency Testing
    • National Certified Medical Assistant
    • National Association of Health Professionals
    • American Registry of Medical Assistants
    • American Allied Health
    • American Medical Technologists
    • Certified Medical Administrative Assistant through the National Healthcareer Association
    • Certified Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association required within 30 days of hire.
  • Training: IA/IL Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care required within 90 days of hire.
  • Training: IA/IL Adult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing Care required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

Skills

  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Basic knowledge of pharmacology and medication administration.
  • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $[Salary Range], based on qualifications and experience.

Schedule

This position is full-time and works Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
