Brief Description
Harbor Health is seeking skilled Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) to join their growing team in San Antonio, TX. The clinic utilizes a modern approach to co-create health with patients, providers, and payers, aiming to transform healthcare through a payvider model.
Position Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the clinical team to execute care tasks as ordered by providers
- Deliver care in accordance with each member's individualized care plan
- Perform client intake, collect lab specimens, and administer immunizations
- Chart accurately in electronic medical records (EHR)
- Assist with minor procedures and other supportive functions for the clinical team
- Complete opening and closing tasks each day to prepare for daily clinic operations
- Support the care team to ensure members' needs are met and hand-offs are appropriately conducted
Required Professional Skills & Experience
- High School Degree or equivalent
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or ability to renew/apply for certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in primary care or similar clinical environment
- Current CPR Certification
- Computer proficiency with the ability to enter information in EHR systems and compile reports or data as requested
- Excellent customer service and support skills; ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Effective and professional communication — verbal and written — with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds
- Consistent demonstration of positive, proactive customer service and ethical behavior
- Flexibility to shift priorities, maintain confidentiality, and establish effective interpersonal work relationships
PREFERRED Professional Skills & Experience
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- BLS Certification
- Phlebotomy Certification
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work rotating shifts in a physically demanding, moderate-stress environment
- Exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, and repetitive motions
- Light to moderate work with 50 lbs. maximum weight to lift and carry
- Reach, bend, stoop, handle objects, talk and/or hear, and see
