About the role
The CERTIFIED Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative/clerical tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Responsibilities include providing a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees; delivering patient care tasks and procedures; handling administrative duties; and following department and system policies, procedures, and practices. The role requires floating when needed, with mileage reimbursement offered.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. New graduates are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient care tasks and procedures as delegated by healthcare providers.
- Conduct administrative and clerical duties, including front and back office tasks.
- Assess situations objectively, consider alternatives, and assist in developing action plans.
- Demonstrate proficiency in medical assisting skills and inter-departmental interactions.
- Follow safety principles to ensure a secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
- Utilize resources that are safe, effective, ethical, and fiscally responsible.
- Float to other locations as needed, with mileage reimbursement provided.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency (required).
- One of the following certifications on the first day of employment:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- Certified EMT (EMT-B)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
- Phlebotomy experience (highly preferred).
