About the role

This full-time, on-site Certified Medical Assistant role supports cardiology providers by preparing patients for examinations, taking vital signs, performing EKGs and other basic clinical procedures, and assisting with in-office testing and treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and update medical histories
  • Manage medication lists and document care accurately in medical records systems
  • Coordinate appointments and assist with referrals
  • Maintain exam room supplies and cleanliness
  • Support patient education on procedures, medications, and follow-up care
  • Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and administrative staff to ensure efficient clinic flow and a positive patient experience

Requirements

  • Active Medical Assistant certification (e.g., CMA, RMA, NCMA)
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Clinical support skills in Medical Assisting, including vital signs and basic procedures
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology relevant to cardiology and general outpatient care
  • Experience working in a Medical Office setting, including scheduling, coordination, and front/back office workflows
  • Competence in Patient Care, focusing on safety, comfort, communication, and culturally sensitive care
  • Ability to manage and update Medical Records accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask in a busy clinic
  • Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to privacy, safety, and infection control standards

Qualifications

Previous experience in cardiology or another specialty clinic is beneficial but not required.
