Certified Medical Assistant

About the Role

To coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe, quality, cost-effective service and care for the people within the practice population.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Current certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire) from one of the following approved certifying registries:
  • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)
  • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
  • American Allied Health (AAH)
  • RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
  If not currently certified, must obtain certification by the end of the sixth month of hire and sign an education agreement.
• Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
• Current State Driver’s License (Palliative Care Only), required.
• Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
