About the role

Medical Assistants are essential members of the clinic team. They contribute to the healthcare of patients by assisting with exams and procedures, organizing and managing patient flow, and taking on other responsibilities based on the needs of the department.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools)
• Nursing Students who are actively enrolled in a BSN program and completed nursing fundamentals may apply and be hired as a Medical Assistant. Such team members must maintain active enrollment status and provide proof of enrollment at the beginning of every semester.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Certification or Registration as a Medical Assistant from one of the following organizations:
  • American Medical Technologist (RMA-Registered Medical Assistant)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA-Nationally Certified Medical Assistant)
  • National Healthcare Association (CCMA-Certified Clinical Medical Assistant)
  • National Association for Health Professionals (NRCMA-Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant)
• Current Moffitt Medical Assistants must receive certification from one of the above organizations within one year of date of transfer.
• In lieu of CMA, the following may apply:
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program
  • Applicable Military Medical Training
  • Students actively enrolled in a BSN program who have completed nursing fundamentals and can provide proof of enrollment at the beginning of every semester

Pay

Salary Range: $20.64 - $31.47 per hour. Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among team members in similar positions.
