About the role
Right at Home, In‑Home Care & Assistance is seeking a Skilled Certified Home Health Aide or Companion Caregiver to provide compassionate, meaningful care in Middlesex, Mercer and Northern Monmouth Counties. The role supports seniors who wish to age in place by assisting with daily activities and ensuring their well‑being.
Responsibilities
- Record and report patient data as medically necessary
- Assist with daily functions such as dressing, bathing, and grooming
- Help plan for doctor’s appointments, other meetings, and organize transportation when needed
- Perform facility work, including hourly and live‑in shifts
- Light housekeeping: dusting, mopping, laundry, etc.
- Prepare and cook meals
- Grocery shopping
- Report changes in patient health status to nurses
- Teach patients self‑care skills
Requirements
- NJ Licensed as Certified Home Health Aide (mandatory)
- Current 2‑step PPD
- Physical examination within the last 12 months
- MMR vaccination
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
- Reliable transportation
Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED certificate preferred
Skills
- Detail‑oriented and able to follow protocols and rules regarding patient care
- Trustworthy and dependable, ensuring patients and families feel comfortable relying on the aide
- Ability to adhere to instructions from doctors and nurses
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Pay
$18‑20 per hour (depending on experience and case)
Schedule
- Full‑time, part‑time, and per‑diem shifts available
- Weekend and overnight shifts offered
