Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA)
Right at Home provides compassionate in-home care and assistance, helping seniors stay at home and age in place by supporting their daily activities in Middlesex, Mercer, and Northern Monmouth Counties.
About the Role
We are seeking detail-oriented, trustworthy, and dependable Certified Home Health Aides (CHHAs) or Companion Caregivers. Aides must carefully follow care protocols, adhere to instructions from doctors and nurses, and communicate changes in the patient’s health. This role offers flexibility in scheduling, including full-time, part-time, per-diem, hourly, and live-in positions.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily functions such as dressing, bathing, and personal hygiene.
- Record and report patient data as medically necessary.
- Plan and organize transportation for doctor’s appointments and other meetings.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including dusting, mopping, and laundry.
- Prepare and cook meals, and assist with grocery shopping.
- Report patient health status to nurses and healthcare providers.
- Teach patients self-care skills.
Requirements
- High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
- NJ Licensed as a Certified Home Health Aide (required).
- 2-step PPD and physical within the last 12 months.
- MMR vaccination.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job.
- Reliable transportation.
