Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA)
Right at Home, In-Home Care & Assistance, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Home Health Aide or Companion Caregiver to provide meaningful care in Middlesex, Mercer, and Northern Monmouth Counties. Help seniors stay at home and age in place by supporting their daily activities.
About the Role
Certified Home Health Aides must be detail-oriented, carefully following protocols and rules regarding patient care. Aides adhere to instructions from doctors and nurses, such as addressing minor medical issues or reporting changes in a patient’s health. They should be trustworthy and dependable to ensure the patient and their family feel comfortable relying on them.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily functions, such as dressing or bathing
- Plan and organize transportation for doctor’s appointments and other meetings
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including dusting, mopping, and laundry
- Prepare and cook meals, and assist with grocery shopping
- Report to nurses about patients' health status
- Teach patients self-care skills
- Record and report medically necessary data
- Work in facility-based, hourly, or live-in care settings
Requirements
- High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred
- NJ Licensed as a Certified Home Health Aide (required)
- 2-step PPD and physical within the last 12 months
- MMR vaccination
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
- Reliable transportation
Pay
Salary: $18–20 per hour (depending on experience and case)
Schedule
- Full-time, part-time, and per-diem shifts available
- Weekend and overnight shifts available
