Right at Home provides compassionate and meaningful in-home care and assistance, helping seniors stay at home and age in place by supporting their daily activities in Middlesex, Mercer, and Northern Monmouth Counties.
About the role
As a Certified Home Health Aide or Companion Caregiver, you will deliver detail-oriented care while adhering to protocols and instructions from doctors and nurses. You must be trustworthy, dependable, and capable of following medical guidelines to ensure patient comfort and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily functions such as dressing, bathing, and personal hygiene
- Plan and organize doctor’s appointments and transportation
- Perform light housekeeping duties (dusting, mopping, laundry, etc.)
- Prepare and cook meals, and assist with grocery shopping
- Report patient health status to nurses and medical professionals
- Teach patients self-care skills
- Record and report medically necessary data
- Work in facility-based, hourly, or live-in care settings
Requirements
- High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate (preferred)
- NJ Licensed as a Certified Home Health Aide (required)
- 2-step PPD and physical within the last 12 months
- MMR vaccination
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
- Reliable transportation
Pay
$18–20 per hour (depending on experience and case)
Schedule
- Full-time, part-time, and per-diem shifts available
- Weekend and overnight shifts offered
