Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA)
Right at Home, In-Home Care & Assistance, is seeking a Skilled Certified Home Health Aide or Companion Caregiver to provide compassionate and meaningful care in Middlesex, Mercer, and Northern Monmouth Counties. Help seniors stay at home and age in place by supporting their daily activities.
About the Role
Certified Home Health Aides must be detail-oriented and able to carefully follow protocols and rules regarding patient care. Aides must adhere to instructions from doctors and nurses, such as addressing minor medical issues or reporting changes in the patient’s health. They should be trustworthy and dependable so the patient and their family feel comfortable relying on them.
Responsibilities
- Record and report medically necessary data
- Assist patients with daily functions, such as dressing or bathing
- Help plan doctor’s appointments, meetings, and organize transportation
- Perform facility work, hourly, or live-in care
- Light housekeeping (dusting, mopping, laundry, etc.)
- Prep and cook meals
- Grocery shopping
- Report to nurses about patients' health status
- Teach patients self-care skills
Requirements
- High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred
- NJ Licensed as Certified Home Health Aide (required)
- 2-step PPD and physical within the last 12 months
- MMR vaccination
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
- Reliable transportation
Pay
Salary: $18–20 per hour (depending on experience and case)
Schedule
- Full-time, part-time, per-diem shifts
- Weekend and overnight shifts available
- Flexible scheduling—choose your hours
