About the role
Right at Home, In-Home Care & Assistance, is seeking to hire a Skilled Certified Home Health Aide or Companion Caregiver to make a difference by providing compassionate and meaningful care in the areas of Middlesex, Mercer and Northern Monmouth Counties. Help seniors stay at home and age in place by providing support with their daily activities.
Responsibilities
- Help patients with a variety of needs and record/report data as medically necessary.
- Assist with daily functions such as dressing, bathing, and grooming.
- Assist with planning for doctor's appointments, other meetings, and organize transportation.
- Perform facility work, hourly or live-in shifts.
- Light housekeeping (dusting, mopping, laundry, etc.).
- Prepare and cook meals.
- Grocery shopping.
- Report patients' health status to nurses.
- Teach patients self‑care skills.
Requirements
- High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
- NJ Licensed as Certified Home Health Aide (must).
- 2‑step PPD.
- Physical examination within the last 12 months.
- MMR vaccination.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job.
- Reliable transportation.
Skills
- Detail‑oriented and able to carefully follow protocols and rules regarding patient care.
- Able to adhere to instructions from doctors and nurses (e.g., manage minor medical issues, report health changes).
- Trustworthy and dependable, ensuring patients and families feel comfortable relying on the aide.
Pay
$18‑20 per hour (depending on experience and case).
Schedule
Full‑time, part‑time, and per‑diem shifts available; weekend and overnight shifts offered; flexible scheduling – choose your hours.
