Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA)

Right at Home provides compassionate in-home care and assistance, helping seniors age in place by supporting their daily activities in Middlesex, Mercer, and Northern Monmouth Counties.

About the role

As a Certified Home Health Aide or Companion Caregiver, you will deliver detail-oriented, protocol-driven care while adhering to instructions from doctors and nurses. Your role is to ensure patients and their families feel comfortable and confident in the care provided.

Responsibilities

• Record and report medically necessary data
• Assist with daily functions such as dressing and bathing
• Plan and organize transportation for doctor’s appointments and other meetings
• Perform facility work, hourly, or live-in care as needed
• Light housekeeping (dusting, mopping, laundry, etc.)
• Prep and cook meals
• Grocery shopping
• Report patient health status to nurses
• Teach patients self-care skills

Requirements

• High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred
• NJ Licensed as Certified Home Health Aide (required)
• 2-step PPD and physical within the last 12 months
• MMR vaccination
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
• Reliable transportation

Pay

$18–20 per hour (depending on experience and case)
