Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA)

About the Role

Right at Home is seeking a Skilled Certified Home Health Aide or Companion Caregiver to provide compassionate and meaningful care in Middlesex, Mercer, and Northern Monmouth Counties. Help seniors stay at home and age in place by supporting their daily activities.

Certified Home Health Aides must be detail-oriented, follow care protocols, and adhere to instructions from doctors and nurses. They should be trustworthy and dependable to ensure the comfort of patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Record and report patient data as medically necessary
• Assist patients with daily functions such as dressing or bathing
• Plan and organize transportation for doctor’s appointments and other meetings
• Perform facility work, hourly, or live-in care as needed
• Light housekeeping (dusting, mopping, laundry, etc.)
• Prep and cook meals
• Grocery shopping
• Report to nurses about patients' health status
• Teach patients self-care skills

Requirements

• High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred
• NJ Licensed as Certified Home Health Aide (required)
• 2-step PPD and physical within the last 12 months
• MMR vaccination
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
• Reliable transportation

Pay

Salary: $18–20 per hour (depending on experience and case)
