Role Overview
Provides safe, effective hand and upper extremity therapy by conducting evaluations and implementing treatment plans tailored to patient needs. Collaborates with clients and healthcare team members to achieve therapeutic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with hand and upper extremity conditions, including splinting, mobility, and functional independence issues.
- Maintain ongoing patient care from initial assessment to discharge, ensuring collaborative treatment approaches.
- Communicate effectively with team members and patients, providing counseling and guidance.
- Document clinical content professionally and clearly.
- Participate in team building and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Qualifications & Skills
- Unencumbered Oregon PT or OT license.
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) certification required.
- Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
- Knowledge of diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation principles for physical and cognitive conditions.
- Strong communication, business writing, and team collaboration skills.
- Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple tasks in dynamic environments.
Physical Demands
- Includes lifting (up to 60 lbs), manual dexterity, repetitive movements, and physical activities like crawling, climbing stairs, and standing for extended periods, with varying frequencies.
