About the role
The Certified Hand Therapist role performs evaluations, develops plans, and carries out treatments to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part; helps patients reach their maximum performance in accordance with the Plan of Care prescribed by the provider.
Responsibilities
- Performs evaluations, develops treatment plans, and carries out treatments to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part.
- Works closely with providers to ensure patient goals are met through the Plan of Care.
- Assists patients in reaching their maximum performance in accordance with the Plan of Care.
Requirements
- Current State of Maine License as an Occupational or Physical Therapist.
- Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
- 3 years of licensed experience and 4,000 hours of direct practice in hand therapy.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in occupational or physical therapy from an accredited program and successful completion of clinical internship.
