Certified Hand Therapist

About the role

The Certified Hand Therapist role performs evaluations, develops plans, and carries out treatments to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part; helps patients reach their maximum performance in accordance with the Plan of Care prescribed by the provider.

Responsibilities

• Performs evaluations, develops treatment plans, and carries out treatments to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part.
• Works closely with providers to ensure patient goals are met through the Plan of Care.
• Assists patients in reaching their maximum performance in accordance with the Plan of Care.

Requirements

• Current State of Maine License as an Occupational or Physical Therapist.
• Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• 3 years of licensed experience and 4,000 hours of direct practice in hand therapy.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in occupational or physical therapy from an accredited program and successful completion of clinical internship.
