Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG)

The Geologist CEG LA will play a vital role in managing various project phases from investigation to remediation. This position demands a candidate who can perform independent fieldwork and oversee subcontractors effectively. The ideal individual will possess a flexible approach to diverse projects and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals and geotechnical reports
• Conduct faulting trenching to assess active fault lines and recommend site improvements
• Perform CPT Fault Studies that include shallow groundwater analysis
• Collaborate with grading contractors to facilitate project progress
• Respond to client inquiries and communicate technical concepts in an understandable manner
• Engage with developers, landscape architects, structural engineers, and civil engineers
• Manage projects with minimal oversight while demonstrating responsible judgment
• Support marketing efforts to attract new clients
• Write technical reports and maintain project documentation

Requirements

• 5-10+ years of experience in environmental consulting
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology
• CEG certification or in the process of obtaining it
• Experience with faulting trenching and groundwater studies
• Ability to perform hands-on fieldwork and crawl in/out of trenches
• Proficient in Excel and technologically adept
• Valid California driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for site travel
• Experience working with local and state agencies
• Experience writing phase one and phase two reports is preferred
