Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Affords clients assistance in identifying and progressing towards their chosen goals.
- Advocates for clients across all areas of treatment and assists them in accessing and utilizing available services.
- Provides immediate intervention during crises to prevent escalation and notifies necessary parties for resolution.
- Conducts interviews, reviews records, and engages in consultations with other professionals.
- Develops and implements treatment and rehabilitation plans for clients, including facilitating support groups.
- Counsels clients individually and in group settings to aid in overcoming alcohol and drug dependency.
- Counsels family members to help them manage and provide support for the client.
- Refers clients to additional support services as required, such as medical evaluations, social services, and employment assistance.
- Maintains regular monitoring of the client's condition to assess the effectiveness of therapy and adjusts treatment plans accordingly.
- Prepares and updates reports and case histories.
- Designs and conducts programs aimed at preventing alcohol and drug abuse.
- Safely transports clients and other passengers to and from appointments and program-related activities using one's personal vehicle.
- Supports and trains other staff members as needed.
- Complies with and upholds the policies and procedures of Turning Point Community Programs.
- Attends staff meetings unless approved for non-attendance by the Team Leader or Program Director.
Minimum Qualifications And Certifications & Licenses
- Possession of a CADAC license.
- Variety of experience working with dually diagnosed adults (those with both substance abuse and psychiatric disabilities).
- Valid California driver’s license and current vehicle insurance/registration if driving.
- Reliable means of transportation capable of passing vehicle safety inspections if older than five years, excluding all forms of two-wheeled transport like bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles.
