About the role

NovaCare Rehabilitation is seeking a passionate Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to provide care for our athletes.

Responsibilities

  • Service contracted schools and/or professional teams and coordinate access to additional health care for their athletes.
  • Support our partners in/around the Philadelphia market.
  • Offer flexible hours that open opportunities to work in high school, college/university, and outreach settings.
  • Develop and grow skills while working with other Athletic Trainers, Sports Physical Therapists, and Sports Medicine Physicians.
  • Implement specific therapeutic programs for injured athletes' rehabilitation.
  • Before and during games/practices, use proper athletic training techniques to decrease the risk of injury (such as taping, wrapping, bracing, proper hydration, and minor wound care).
  • Administer athletic training/rehabilitative techniques and record changes based on athlete responses within the limits of the specified plan of care.
  • Coordinate EMS and acute care procedures including basic life support to reduce the impact on function of an injured athlete.
  • Seek outreach opportunities and participate in events to promote the company (such as races, club teams, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Athletic Training or related field from an accredited program.
  • National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA-BOC) Board of Certification.
  • CPR certification.
  • Applicable state license where required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Athletic Training or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree.

Skills

  • Knowledge of athletic training techniques and rehabilitation methods.
  • Ability to manage emergency incidents and coordinate EMS and acute care procedures.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
