About the role

Maine Township High School District 207 is seeking a Certified Assistant Athletic Trainer to support the health and safety of student-athletes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate care for athletic injuries and medical emergencies during practices, games, and athletic events.
  • Assist in developing and implementing injury prevention programs, rehabilitation plans, and post-injury care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of injuries, treatments, and progress reports in accordance with FERPA and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, coaches, and school personnel regarding injury status, treatment plans, and participation clearance.
  • Support the Head Athletic Trainer in coordinating physical exams, concussion management, and emergency action plans.
  • Monitor athletic facilities and equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to district policies and ethical standards at all times.
  • Maintain current certifications (e.g., BOC certification, CPR/AED, First Aid).
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and stay informed on best practices in sports medicine.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Hold and maintain National Athletic Trainers Association BOC certification, and Illinois State Licensure or eligible.
  • Strong background in functional rehabilitation is desired.
  • Possess good communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and parents.
  • Able to deal courteously and professionally with both public and staff.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks at a time and be effective with time management.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends as required.

Facility and Safety Oversight

  • Assist with the inspection and safety of athletic facilities and equipment.
  • Support coaches in implementing conditioning and fitness plans for athletes.
  • Ensure all athletic facilities meet safety and emergency preparedness standards.
  • Maintain proper organization and cleanliness of the athletic training area.

Additional Qualifications

Salary & Benefits

  • 10-month (260 paid days) - Start Date tbd
  • Total Number of Paid Hours/Day: 6.67
  • Total Number of Paid Hours: 1,733.4
  • Hourly Rate: $28.02 - $45,81
  • Approximately $48,563.18 - $79,400.36 (prorated first year based on start date)
